"Lady of the Blues was painted in May 2023. I was feeling so down while grieving my mother-in-law's passing on Mother's Day. While everyone processes their strong emotions differently, I turned to what helps me self-regulate and express many different emotions on the canvas. While I am the lady that was feeling so blue during that time, I added the pinks as colors of joy and love. Love heals, love is what gives me strength. From a sad place, this painting brings so much joy." -Marina
