"Grief is probably the most painful emotional experience a human can go through. We can grieve our parents, childhood, loss of a loved one through death or even a pet. We go through shock and denial, pain and guilt, anger and bargaining, depression and reflection, working through and finally accepting it. None of it in a specific order, it's a personal journey. The healing journey reminds me of finally feeling grateful for having had the opportunity to feel love for those I have lost, as even a short amount with them gives a lifetime of gratitude.
